Dog beach in Fonyód – 500 m
An old dream has finally come true for dog owners. On this beach you can play with your pets on the grassy terrain, and from the pier you can splash with them into the water of Lake Balaton. Fonyód Market – 2 km
One of the charming places of Fonyód is the market. One of the biggest fairs on the Southern coast is organised here, where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from the producers. You can buy dogs and cats at the pet market. Rent a bike from us to shop fresh vegetables and fruits for breakfast.
Farm in Bugaszeg – 8 km
On this huge estate, you can find a lot of interesting features, including – among others – a museum, a monument, a bell tower, horses, sheep, mangalica pigs, rabbits and poultry. Since the place also functions as a brick gallery, instead of having to buy an entrance ticket, the owner is happy if visitors surprise him with 1 or 2 bricks. Csilli Choco Bons – 9 km
There is a chocolate manufacture in Balatonlelle. Their field of activity is the production of sweets, more specifically the production of handmade bonbons and chocolates, as well as teaching how to make them.

Balatonlelle Gokart – 9 km
The best go-kart track in the region is located in Balatonlelle. It is available for individuals as well as for groups. The track is 400 m long and 6 m wide, and is safe. If you’ve already tried the petanque and chess courts, the pool and the barbecue facilities, but you still want to spend the summer actively, do not miss out on this go-kart track! Csiszta Spa – 10 km
Csisztapuszta Spa has sulphurous water of 42°C, rich in minerals, with a healing effect on many health issues. It also has a beneficial effect on motion sickness and rheumatic diseases, gynaecological, gastrointestinal and stomach-related problems, as well as on skin diseases and during rehabilitation following fractures. Balatonboglár Adventure Park Bobpath – 12 km
In this adventure park, you have the opportunity to try out the cableway and bobpath, climb the wall and improve your archery skills. Gömbkilátó Lookout Tower is easily accessible from the site. Crypt Villa – 2.6 km
It’s a crypt built by Ödön Abrudbányai-Rédiger as a beautiful memory for his love, Magdus. Their wedding bed carved out of marble can be found in the building. Villa Café also operates in the building, where you can sip your coffee while enjoying the breathtaking landscape of Lake Balaton and its surroundings. Our bicycles are available to our guests 24 hours a day!
Fonyód Museum – 3.4 km
The purpose of the association, founded in 1998, is to preserve and present the material and spiritual heritage of Fonyód and its surroundings, and to preserve traditions. In the 3 exhibition halls, you can learn about the history of the region, as well as listen to classical music concerts.
We warmly recommend it to everyone who would like to get to know the history of the region. You can find antiques in the museum, while in Sunset Resort you can try out modern technology. The principle of our apartment hotel is operating with minimal staff. Come and see it for yourself!
Dutra Museum – 5.3 km
If you stay at us with your family, Dutra Museum in Balatonboglár is a must-see! At Balázs Molnár’s home, you can see up close a lot of tractors. You also have the opportunity to take part in organised tours, during which passengers will be carried on Csepel trucks. Both small and large families are welcome in our spacious family apartments!
Zichy Castle – 12 km
The 10-hectare ancient park is located at the heart of the town of Lengyeltót, on the rise of a small hill. During the Second World War, the Marcali Hospital used the building as a psychiatric clinic. If you would like to visit the castle by bicycle, Bianchi bicycles are available to our guests.
Konyári Winery – 13 km
Konyári Winery is perhaps the most well-known and the most respected winery in the South Balaton region. By registering in advance, you have the opportunity to participate in a wine tasting event, and taste wines such as the 2018 Chardonnay, the Piritye Kékfrankos or the 2012 Madonna.
Although the winery is only a 15-minute drive from Sunset Resort, we recommend you to leave your car in our parking lot and order a taxi at the reception.
Pottery House – 13 km
In the Pottery House in Balatonboglár you can see rooms furnished with folk furniture, in addition to hand-made and painted majolica objects. It is easily accessible by car and bicycle as well from Sunset Resort.

Sipos-hegy – 3 km
The most beautiful view of Lake Balaton can be seen from the watchtower on Sipos-hegy. The picturesque panorama is a must-see for those coming to Fonyód! The watchtower can be reached on well-built walking paths.
Várhegyi Watchtower – 4 km
This 14-meter-high watchtower was built on the top of an Árpád-era earth fort on the top of Várhegy. The eye-catching view is made perfect by the view of the Tihany Peninsula.
A row of villas, Bélatelep – 3.5 km
Visit the row of villas, which is a protected monument! In the 20th century, among others, István Bethlen and the Törley family spent their vacation time here. The promenade in front of the row of villas offers a supreme panorama of Lake Balaton. It is situated only a 45-minute walk from Sunset Resort. An ideal place for excursions if you also want to make your dog move! If you come to us with your little pet, on our website you can reserve a place in your apartment for the pet as well.
Pheasant Castle – 27 km
In this castle you can find the remains of a medieval church, a palisade and a moat. The history of this area can be traced all the way back to Koppány, as it was the property of the leader in the beginning, and then it became the property of the Pannonhalmi Abbey. If the weather is not suitable for bathing, take a trip to the castle! It’s a great programme, whether you are alone or with your little pet. Pets are also welcome in our apartments. When booking, don’t forget to let us know if you are bringing your pet with you!
Africa Museum – 12 km
An Africa Museum can be found not only in Balatonederics, but also in Balatonlelle. The Szalay mansion is home to the Africa Museum displaying the Africa collection of Count Pongrácz Somssich and István Soltész. The exhibition displays award-winning and record-breaking trophies, as well as authentic ethnographic materials, which are complemented by paintings demonstrating the fauna of Africa. If after bathing you would feel like visiting a Savannah museum, do not miss out on the Africa Museum, which is located only 10 minutes by car from Sunset Resort! Krishna Valley – 30 km
If you really like going on a long bike tour, you must visit the Krishna Valley! Sunset Resort offers excellent Bianchi rental bikes for its guests. You can even rent the bicycle for your entire stay here. In the valley, you can take part in events such as the Vega Gastroday, the Dance and Henna Festival or the Krishna Valley Fair.

Szegedy Róza House Literature Museum and Wine Museum in Badacsony
Róza Szegedy took this imposing house as a dowry when she became married to Sándor Kisfaludy in 1800. You can admire several exhibitions in the building, which now operates as a museum.
St. Anne’s Chapel in Badacsony
This chapel has been standing in the city of Badacsony since 1789. It is one of those rare chapels which has a unique arrangement, as the pews on the right and left sides of the nave are parallel to the nave, so they are located opposite each other. This is how we can listen to the St. Ann’s Day mass held every year.
Holy Trinity Chapel – 8 km from Badacsony
This chapel is located probably in the most beautiful place within Szigliget. In this chapel, built in a classicist style, they used to hold a mass on every public holiday, but currently mass is held here only on the day of fair.
